About this sample:
This layout achieves three columns by use of a two column layout plus the text join feature of Picture Input Areas. Three columns will work with display of smaller photos (420 pixels or less in width suggested). If that results in smaller photos than you would like to display you may, as has been done with these photos, also use the Click to Enlarge feature of Picture Input Areas.
When using the join feature of Picture Input Areas the text to the right will not automatically line up with the top of the photo. To get that alignment set the height of the Text Input Area to match the height of the picture. In this example that is 560 pixels.

Typically a narrow space on the left or right is used for links to categories, cross promotion of other items, or for site navigation links. You may use it that way but there's nothing to prevent you using it also or instead to communicate any other message you desire to your shoppers. Be creative!
As you work to create a multi-column layout bear in mind that it will take some trial and error to get the spacing right. Particularly a three column layout such as this requires restraints on picture display size, text size, etc. that are not present with simpler layouts.
Concentrate first on getting all the ''ingredients'' into the Builder then ask for help if you need it for arrangement. The important thing to remember is the layout work typically only needs to be done once and thereafter just follow the pattern.

As with all the sample starter templates you are free to change colors, re-arrange content, add or remove content, use your own graphics and backgrounds, etc. The samples are intended to inspire you with ideas and to demonstrate different types of layouts you can create using FreeForm. You are not required or expected to use them exactly as they are set up here.

If a layout like this will be used on eBay consider assigning an overall width of 940 pixels up in Global Features to make it work well in eBay's new selling page expected to be launched early 2009.
