About this sample:
This layout shows a way to use a collage (or any other very busy wallpaper) as a background.
Collages need to be created using a photo/graphics editor. The trick to creating them for use like this or as a surrounding border, is to make them appear irregular. That way when it is cut off (covered up) by interior content or cut off at the sides of the page it still looks appropriate.
This one of the Beatles isn't quite right because a pattern is apparent. Adding more photos into it and slanted in different directions would have helped.

Most of the sample layouts created to demonstrate Builder'B' features use two columns, above/below frames, etc. You are certainly not required to use all the advanced features. Take what you need and leave the rest. Also, please understand any feature demonstrated in any one of the samples is available to use in combination with features demonstrated in others.
As with all the sample starter templates you are free to change colors, re-arrange content, add or remove content, use your own graphics and backgrounds, etc. The samples are intended to inspire you with ideas and to demonstrate different types of layouts you can create using FreeForm. You are not required or expected to use them exactly as they are set up here.
When it comes down to it you can also depend on Rob for assistance with details such as creating links and fine tuning arrangements. FreeForm includes the ability to save everything you create within FreeForm itself. That enables sharing what you are working on with Rob who can then access and help 'hands on' to achieve what you desire.

FreeForm's Picture Input and Text Input Areas Border feature (1 pixel, white, Outset) is used to visually float the text boxes and photos over the busy background. A background color has been assigned to the Text Input Areas to make the text readable.

In the long run, more important than the capability to create templates, FreeForm provides a convenient interface for using what you have created.
As you build individual item descriptions or web pages you can alter your layouts 'on the fly' to accommodate more or less photos, more or less text areas. Replace, add, remove, anything desired while leaving the parts that do not need to be altered alone. All without having to learn or edit HTML.
You can leave placeholders in your templates by inserting any type of Input Area at any location without entering anything into it. Rather than continuously inserting or removing Input Areas you may just blank out the entry areas and FreeForm ignores them in Preview and when producing the HTML results.
With FreeForm you may also alter the size and formatting of text as desired including using a WYSIWYG interface to format individual words as needed.

The ''Join this picture with Text Input Area'' feature of Picture Input Areas is used here to show text to the right of the photo. The join feature provides for setting a percentage width to the photo / text combo and in this case was set to 90% to allow more of the background to peek through.

Text Input Areas can be assigned a color or a background wallpaper. Below one color is used for the section headings and another for the section contents.
Of course, the contents of each section are entirely up to you or you could remove any or all of them completely.
